A Poor Man's Life

TAKING things for granted I have been,
An easy life we might have seen,
A sinner, a rascal, weak beings are we,
Repent, a better man I will be,

Problems, questions, I want not these things,
Behind the clouds, the answers are hiding,
Fly I would, but wings I have not,
On earth I left, with time I will rot,

Failing in life I do not seek,
Matter not how the future be bleak,
The hardest of life He might give,
A poor man's life I shall live,

Repay the debts, Eden He will give,
Then a poor man's life I shall live.
